2011

  • CTFD wins the Excellence in Practice Citation from the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) for its support and implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

2010

  • Visited by 5 Japanese Visiting Scholars from Hokkaido University, Japan
  • Presented at UC Berkeley Graduate Student Institute on faculty roles and responsibilities
  • Sponsored 19 faculty members for a 3-day grant writing workshop
  • Developed 5 Accessible Instructional Multimedia (AIM) for EnACT~PTD grant
  • Visited by 2 Taiwan Visiting Scholars from Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan
  • Invited to participate at the Quality and Improvement Committee, and Nursing Informatics and Simulation Committee at the School of Nursing
  • Visited by 8 Japanese Visiting Scholars from various universities in Kyoto, Japan
  • Formed a Faculty Learning Community on Course Redesign sponsored by CSU Institute of Teaching and Learning
  • Sponsored the “Reach More Without Doing More” Inter-Institutional Presentations on Teaching and Learning

2009

  • Received a $4,500 grant from the CSU Institute of Teaching and Learning to form a course redesign faculty learning community
  • Submitted 5 proposals on Accessible Instructional Multimedia (AIM) project, ALL accepted (a grant of $15,000)
  • Developed 5 video case stories on student engagement supported by a FIPSE grant
  • Visited by 16 Taiwan Visiting Scholars from various universities in Taiwan and the Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association
  • Visited by a Japanese Visiting Scholar from Hokkaido University, Japan
  • Sponsored 4 faculty members on projects related to teaching and scholarship
  • Formed and sponsored 3 Faculty Learning Communities on Sustainability, Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and Interdisciplinary Teaching
  • Invited to serve on the Honorary Degree Committee as a presidential appointment
  • Invited to develop and deliver an 8-day faculty development course at the Prince Sultan University for Women, Saudi Arabia
  • Presented at the 2009 Faculty/Staff Retreat

2008

  • Received a $87,500 grant for a 3-year EnACT~PTD Project on Universal Design for Learning
  • Developed 3 video case stories on Universal Design for Learning and Just-in-Time Teaching
  • Formed a Faculty Learning Committee on Universal Design for Learning with STEM faculty members supported by an NSF grant
  • Developed 3 Accessible Instructional Multimedia (AIM) projects on Universal Design for Learning supported by an EnACT grant
  • Sponsored a Showcase on Universal Design for Learning
  • Sponsored 5 faculty members on projects related to teaching and scholarship
  • Invited to participate at the ETRAC committee

2007

  • Developed an online tutorial on Universal Design for Learning
  • Developed a new CTFD website with more resources on teaching and learning
  • Developed a Faculty Resource Guide for new faculty members
  • Developed a video case story on Universal Design for Learning supported by an EnACT grant
  • Sponsored 4 faculty members on projects related to teaching and scholarship
  • Launched the Center's first newsletter- The Garden

2006

  • Received a $42,500 grant from Department of Education for an EnACT project
  • Trained over 60 faculty members on Universal Design for Learning
