11th Annual Public Lecture Series for Women's History Month and International Women's Day: Defining "Woman"

Lead: Women's History and International Women's Day Planning Committee, SF State University

Reading, wRioting, and Reclaiming: Feminism(s) Empowerment and the Crisis in Public Education.

The Series consists of eight weekly events in March of speakers and films that bring together SFSU scholars, activists, writers and community organizers to discuss topics related to women in a global context.

Defining “Woman”
The A.S.I. Women’s Center will host a panel composed SF State University students, faculty, staff and community activists. Panelists will discuss how they define “femininity,” what it means to be a “woman,” and how they navigate issues of body image within and across
their communities with respect to gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, race, age and class. Discussion follows.
