CTFD Summer Institute - Track 1: Professional Grant Writing Workshop

Master the techniques of writing superior and winning proposals
The Grant Training Center offers custom grant-writing workshops that address protocols and strategies for winning public and private funding. Headquartered in Arlington, VA and staffed by grant writers who have also been members of review committees for grant-awarding government agencies and private foundations, the center offers a comprehensive view of grant-writing with personalized attention to participants.
This intensive three-day grant proposal workshop is geared for those who wish to strengthen their grant writing skills as well as for beginners who wish to acquire and master the techniques of preparing, writing and winning proposals from various funding agencies. The center of attention will be on how to effectively tell the story that leads to funding, be it for the researcher in the sciences and social sciences, educator and non-profit professional.
Participants will learn how to:
- Comprehend the diversity of the grant funding community
- Identify and effectively write the key elements of a proposal
- Research and identify potential funding sources
- Integrate each component of the grant into the final product
- Create the right fit with the funding agency
- Address the guidelines of proposals
- Develop focused and realistic budgets
- Package professional grants submissions
What to Bring
Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of a work in progress grant proposal or a previously submitted proposal.

The workshop fee is $495.00 for CSU faculty and staff and includes workshop materials, certificate of completion, and continental breakfast.

About This Series
Spend this summer reducing your stress for next semester—attend a CTFD track in our new Summer
Institute! From grant-writing to transforming your new teaching technique into a research article,
the CTFD Summer Institute explores issues relating to all faculty in every department.
Every track will be a three-day intensive program of suggestions and solutions to help you with curriculum
development, instructional strategies, student engagement and pedagogical research. CTFD has
arranged a discount for all CSU faculty who wish to register for the Grant Training Center’s workshop
– and the remaining four tracks of the Summer Institute are completely free of charge. Breakfast is
included during the Grant Proposal Workshop; lunch is provided for the remaining tracks.
