CTFD Summer Institute - Track 5: Engaging the At-Risk Student
Lead: Pamela Vaughn, Director of CTFD
Participants will depart with individualized strategies and assessment techniques for promoting student success and encouraging student retention. We'll focus on your specific classroom challenges, and discuss how to engage and retain those students who may be under-prepared for the demands of the university. Box lunch is provided!

About This Series
Spend this summer reducing your stress for next semester—attend a CTFD track in our new Summer
Institute! From grant-writing to transforming your new teaching technique into a research article,
the CTFD Summer Institute explores issues relating to all faculty in every department.
Every track will be a three-day intensive program of suggestions and solutions to help you with curriculum
development, instructional strategies, student engagement and pedagogical research. CTFD has
arranged a discount for all CSU faculty who wish to register for the Grant Training Center’s workshop
– and the remaining four tracks of the Summer Institute are completely free of charge. Breakfast is
included during the Grant Proposal Workshop; lunch is provided for the remaining tracks.
