Promoting Classroom Civility and Working with Disruptive Students

Lead: Derethia DuVal, Counseling and Psychological Services Center, and Donna Cunningham, Student Judicial Affairs
Date and Time: August 20, 2009 - 10:00am - 11:00am
Location: Burk Hall 229

How do you gain and maintain control of your classroom? What do you do when confronted with stressed out, misbehaving, difficult and disruptive students? How do you offer support for your class, and yet set appropriate boundaries? This session will review the SF State policies and procedures behind these issues and teach you how to enhance communication with the diverse SF State student population. You will discover when to ask for help, and where to seek it, and what to do and where to turn when confronted with an extreme case.
