Teaching Large Classes

Lead: John Elia and Ivy Chen, Health Education Department

Teaching large classes can be daunting, and demands not only careful preparation, but a different way of thinking. This session will discuss how to lecture effectively, encourage meaningful class discussions, assign strategic writing assignments, and manage the overall logistics of a large class. It will also include tips on maintaining and encouraging engagement, student/teacher interaction, and how to most effectively employ and mentor your teaching assistant (TA).
