Research That Informs Teachers and Teacher Educators (1990)

Author(s): Cruickshank, Donald R.

Media Type: Book

Category: Teaching Theory and Psychology

Description\Summary

This book presents selected, research-based knowledge that can inform the practices of teaching and teacher preparation. It begins with the question: Why has there been so little inquiry that informs teachers and teacher educators? Then it summarizes research that informs both teaching and teacher education with the focus on what is known about effective schools, educational practices and teaching. It also reviews research on teacher education in the area of preservice teachers, curriculum and instruction, members of the education professoriate, and the context in which teacher preparation occurs.
