Call for Papers: Academic Exchange Quarterly - Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in the Humanities

Sponsored by: Academic Exchange Quarterly

Deadline: Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Academic Exchange Quarterly, ISSN 1096-1453, independent double-blind-peer-reviewed print journal, welcomes submissions that contribute to the effective instruction and learning regardless of level or subject. In addition to faculty, our primary authorship group, we accept submissions co-authored by graduate students and professors. We encourage graduate students to position themselves as emerging scholars.

Early submission is suggested; it facilitates journal's double-blind-peer-reviewed process and offers:

  • longer time for revision
  • eligibility to have article's abstract and/or full text posted on journal's web portal main page
  • opportunity to be considered for Editors' Choice at no cost to author while other publishers charge a fee.
  • opportunity to be considered for inclusion in Sound Instruction Series.

Focus:
This issue will feature articles about the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) in the arts and/or humanities disciplines. Given the social science tendencies of SoTL, it is challenging for teacher-scholars in the arts and humanities to find project designs, methodologies, and genres that authentically reflect their disciplinary expertise, ways of knowing, and ways of demonstrating knowledge while still being taken seriously by the broader SoTL community. This issue of Academic Exchange Quarterly will provide a place to discuss these issues, as well as to document SoTL projects conducted from such arts and humanities perspectives.

Who May Submit:
Arts and humanities teacher-scholars engaged in scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as those who’ve led SoTL programs that have successfully negotiated such challenges, are encouraged to submit. Please identify your submission with keyword: SCHOLAR-8
