Supporting Women in STEM: Sharing Best Practices
Sponsored by: ADVANCE Program/Cal Poly Pomona
Date: Thursday, September 16, 2010 - 8:45am - 3:00pm
Location: Kellogg West Conference Center, Cal Poly Pomona University, Pomona, CA
Purpose: To bring together STEM faculty and academic administrators to share ideas and best practices on topics such as faculty recruitment and mentoring, sources of funding to create programs for STEM women on campuses, career development for STEM women, and creating a pipeline for STEM women undergraduates to CSU faculty positions.
Who Should Attend? All CSU campuses are invited to attend. We encourage campus teams to participate. The conference will be especially important for:
- Those who are planning STEM faculty searches;
- Those seeking to retain junior STEM women and faculty of color;
- Those seeking funding to support STEM women and faculty of color;
- Recruitment, searching;
- Mentoring;
- STEM student support services;
- Faculty scholarship;
- STEM women
SF State's Provost, Sue Rosser, is the keynote speaker for the event.
